LMS spanner, not from KC but example of those used
Heavy steel spanner, 32.5cm long, measurment inside head 2.5cm. Embossed 'LMS' (London Midland & Scottish Railway and number 3/4 just below head. Not from KC station site, but an example of the spanners which would have been used on the line through King's Cliffe.

King's Cliffe LNWR railway station with canopied platforms, steam train pulling in from west, passengers waiting. Title 'King's Cliffe Station' in small red print on front. Reverse: H H Markham, Publisher, Oundle. 'Phototyped in Berlin'. Pencilled notes: rly opened 1.11.1879; closed passengers 6.6.1966, goods 3.6.1968. Suggested date c1923.

Stationmaster and staff at the station c1879
King's Cliffe Stationmaster and staff posed on the up platform of the station, labourers on the rail-bed. The rail-bed appears clean, as though newly-laid. Believed to be as early as 1879 when the railway station opened. Photo shows railway employees including the Stationmaster, possibly Mr John Humphries, the first Stationmaster at King's Cliffe.
