West St tower mill & Featherstone family c1905

Tower mill to the south of West Street, c1905, built for William Cunnington in 1818, demolished in late October 1925. This photo shows Mr J T Featherstone at the top of the steps and members of his family on the ‘stage’ of the mill. Mr Featherstone worked the windmill until c1910, the last miller to do so. He also ran a bakery at what is now no.22 King’s Cliffe.
